Daniel Huard, the National Fenestration Rating Council’s (NFRC) Vice Chair and Governance Committee Chair, has been named a 2017 LEED Fellow by the Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI).
This year’s 23 Fellows are being honored for their outstanding work as LEED professionals and for the significance of their contributions to the green building community and LEED, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, the world’s most widely-used green building rating system.
LEED Fellows are recognized as the most exceptional professionals in the green building industry, and it is the most prestigious designation awarded from GBCI.
“We are honored and proud to have Daniel A. Huard as one of this year’s LEED Fellows,” said Mahesh Ramanujam, president and CEO of GBCI and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
To be selected, LEED Fellows are nominated by their peers, must have at least 10 years of exceptional impact in the green building industry, hold a LEED AP with specialty credential and undergo an extensive portfolio review, among other requirements. The evaluation process is carried out by the LEED Fellow evaluation committee.
“We are proud of Daniel’s accomplishment and respect his commitment to green building,” said NFRC’s CEO, Deb Callahan. “His dedication and expertise are continually helping us improve our relevance among all our stakeholders.”
Huard, and all of this year ’s recipients, will be honored at the 2017 USGBC Leadership Awards Luncheon at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo taking place Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 in Boston.
